Matt had labor day weekend off so we had a stay cation! The fun started on Thursday, which was our preschools end of the year party and we had a Nemo bounce house. Everything was great for preschool but it started pouring rain just after the kids left! Then Matt came home and we sat on the bed and looked out the window looking for thunder and lightening. And when Hud would see it he would reference the movie 'Cars' and say, "cachiga!"
Friday morning Hud sounded like he may have been coming down with something so we skipped our usual playgroup and went to the movies instead. It was Huds first time going to the movies (since he was tiny) and he did really well. We saw Shrek the 3rd, which was super cute/funny.
Then Friday evening we headed downtown to see Aunt Sami and celebrate her birthday with everyone and eat some delicious burgers (thanks Jon!)
Saturday morning we were thinking about going to Old Sac to go to the train museum, but decided that it wasn't going to be such a good idea because the jazz festival. So instead we packed lunches and went to the Folsom zoo. Little did we know that there was a 'free family fun day at the zoo' (actual event name) and there were a bunch of booths and vendors at the park, BUT the thing we came to see, the Zoo, was free! So we only ended up spending money on the train ride that Hud loves so much (but you wouldn't know from his face in the pictures.
We had dinner at Matt's parents house Saturday and Sunday night, Hud and Matt got into the pool with the crazy Miller cousins, and breakfast with the Antrobus' Monday morning! We ended the weekend at our friends house for a garage BBQ, some chatting and watching the kids slip-n-slide, (Hud didn't want to join) and grown men playing culdesac wiffle ball. Overall we had a great weekend! So glad that Matt had work off so we could have some good family time!
